NOMAD Gallery at (e)merge Art Fair in D.C.
USA- Washington, D.C. | Oct 5 2012 | (23:02:07 - EDT)
(e)merge Art Fair, is taking place in the Capitol Skyline Hotel in Washington, D.C. now until Sunday. The NOMAD Gallery is excited to be participating for their second year at the fair and this time, with a selection of new portraits and small sculptures by Aimé Mpane, as well as never before seen work by Shoshanna Weinberger. The NOMAD Gallery is located in Brussels, Belgium.
Mpane's work is charged with history and emotions and touches us at different levels. Mpane enters the psyche and emotional locus of the people and, more broadly, it enables the artist to narrate the history of an entire place.
Shoshanna Weinberger's painted works address issues of beauty, power, excess and sexuality Coming from Kingston and moving to America, the artist finds that "I'm in two different worlds, and I understand the idea of excess and beauty to be unique to any culture".
