Mayela Vazquez Comments on Ricardo Seco

USA - New York, NY | Oct 25 2012 | (22:47:12 - EDT)

Mayela Vazquez was the make-up artist for Ricardo Seco at New York Fashion Week and interviewed with Beauty Press.

Mayela says, “For Ricardo we went for a rock grunge look! We kept the make up flawless on the face, emphasizing the face structures, cheekbones and lips. A little bit of color inside the eyelids to emphasize and highlight specific areas”.

Mayela went on to discuss hair: “For hair we are did something a little more crazy. We took inspiration from the 90's rock style for men. All the models already had an amazing hair cut so we worked with that and the look comes together really well when you see his great clothes!”

Ricardo’s collection was “A cool mix of casual with a tattered beach vibe and tailored pieces, but all with an edge. He brings a bit of Mexico City to New York... Earthy tones with a splash of color on some of the accessories!” according to Mayela.

New York Fashion week produced a lot of color, especially red on the eyes. Some Runways put red eye shadow down the eyelids as well as smoky eyes with black and red. So right now using a little bit of color with the black is really the trend Mayela sees for Spring/Summer 2013.

Mayela’s favorite product range is actually one that has just developed in Mexico! It is amazing and has really great soothing ingredients such as chamomile. Another favorite is the HD foundation from Make Up Forever and powder highlighter from Bobbie Brown. Mayela says Dermatologica is great as a foundation that is good for all skin types and has SPF in it.
