Affordable Napa Valley: V. Sattui Winery
USA- St. Helena, CA | Jul 29 2012 | (23:04:35 - EDT)
It's widely believed that a trip to the Napa Valley has got to be expensive. But V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena has good news for those looking to enjoy an affordable trip. V. Sattui is a very reasonably-priced destination located in the middle of the Napa Valley and attracts wine and food lovers who wish to enjoy a luxurious wine country experience-even the budget-conscious. Perfect for the entire family.
V. Sattui Winery has a unique wine-country narrative-with beautiful picnic grounds, tasting rooms and a marketplace with cheese shop, deli and gift store. No other winery in the Napa Valley can make this claim! V. Sattui is a family-owned winery, founded in 1885, that crafts over fifty different wines, with over a dozen 90+ point rated wines. This year the winery was twice named "Winery of the Year," at The 2012 Winemaker’s Challenge and The 2012 Monterey Wine Competition.
In the Marketplace, guests are greeted with complimentary cheese and dipping oil samples. Nearly two hundred cheeses are featured, including homemade mozzarella, as well as a variety of hand-carved charcuterie, a selection of unique salads, freshly-baked breads and gourmet foods specially prepared and house-made daily by executive chef and Italian native Gerardo Sainato. Along with a bottle of V. Sattui award-winning wine, a selection of Marketplace foods makes the perfect "al fresco" meal which can be enjoyed on picnic tables under centuries-old Valley oaks.
V. Sattui's stone winery building, underground aging cellars and museum will transport visitors back in time to the beginning of this 4th generation winemaking family tradition spanning three centuries.
Additionally, V. Sattui:
is family-friendly and dog-friendly
has a weekend BBQ, with grilled prawns, tri-tip steak, BBQ ribs, Italian sausages, homemade thin-crust pizzas, and has a fresh-pulled mozzarella bar from 11:30-3:30 pm weekends & holidays
is one of only two wineries in the Napa Valley that can host weddings. And can provide a unique corporate event experience. Up to 250 guests can be accommodated.
"Most importantly, though, it's about the wine," states Winery President Tom Davies. "Our wines, which are sustainably farmed, are sold exclusively from the winery. With no outside distribution, the wines are priced much lower than many brands available in retail stores."
V. Sattui Winery is located on a 38-acre vineyard in the center of the Napa Valley, along Highway 29 about 1½ miles south of St. Helena at White Lane. Open 9am- 6pm daily.
