DNR: Fashion with a Purpose

USA- New York, NY | Sep 13 2012 | (23:04:21 - EDT)

On Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, a group of volunteers joined DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) and founder, Pamela Lubell, on a march up Columbus Avenue to Lincoln Center to help promote their message of increasing awareness about organ donation in the United States - an issue that is extremely prevalent in the US.

The group of participants wore a DNR t-shirt with the slogan "DROP DEAD GORGEOUS" and stood side-by-side in one line on the steps outside of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2012 at Lincoln Center. At around 3:30 p.m., the group joined in unity and raised their hands shouting the words "SUPPORT DNR, RECYCLE LIFE" causing everyone in Lincoln Center to take notice of their presence and message they were sending to them. Afterwards, the volunteers went around talking to those who witnessed the stunt in Lincoln Center telling them about the DNR clothing brand and the significance of being an organ donor.

DNR is a high-end T-shirt/accessory brand used to increase awareness and to promote organ donation in a stylish, edgy way. Their message of becoming an organ donor is very important because twenty people die each day as a result of the lack of organs. Just one organ donor can save up to eight lives and the success rate of organ transplants can range 80-90 percent.
