Launch of SICIS Jewels at Baselworld 2012

SICIS, the world’s art mosaic factory, is renowned for its craftsmanship of interpreting the beauty of decorative art and interior designs. This March during Basel, with the launch of SICIS Jewels, the Italian manufacturer of luxury mosaics is going to mark a milestone.

“We will announce an official launch of our first jewelry Brand, SICIS Jewels handcrafted by “micromosaic” in Baselworld 2012, a perfect stage to present our creations to the leading jewellery buyers and connoisseurs from all over the world,” said Mr Maurizio Leo Placuzzi, President of SICIS.

“Mosaic is always the ink to write our story, and SICIS is reinterpreting micromosaic, an ancient technique in jewelry manufacturing".

SISIC, the Italian maison of luxury mosaics, created SICIS Jewels and the mosaic becomes a jewel. Bathed in the luster of gold and precious gems, a thousand mosaic tesserae shine in chromatic leaps and fashion a design that fades and then reappears. SICIS masters drew inspiration from the ‘700 antique tradition of micro mosaics and revived it in a contemporary form, transmitting ancient emotions through contemporary jewels, thanks to unique and once unknown techniques.

Each spring, some 1800 companies from the watch, jewellery and precious-stone industries, together with related sectors, showcase their latest developments and innovations in Basel. The world's most renowned brands display their collections exclusively at Baselworld.
