Manila Fame Starts Today: Design Defying

In the latest design news, Manila FAME, The Design and Lifestyle Event, (starting today) is the country’s premier trade platform for exports and design, providing opportunities for small and medium scale entrepreneurs to showcase their products in the world market.

Manila FAME is one of the longest running trade shows in the Asia-Pacific, featuring the latest Philippine-made creations from artisans and manufacturers and is the only trade event in the country approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

Its October 2011 edition marked a milestone for the trade show design news as it began a partnership with the country’s three major sourcing events – Manila Now, CEBUNEXT, and Bijoux Cebu – consolidating four event brands under one design-defining show, bringing greater variety of products in furniture and furnishings, holiday and gifts, and fashion to more buyers, serving more markets, and creating a bigger stage to showcase Philippine design and artisanship.

The venue for Manila FAME 2012 is at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, Philippines, the SMX Convention Center is located at the heart of the building. With a dramatic glass facade and an elegant main lobby, the SMX Convention Center is arguably the most beautiful facility of its kind in the Philippines today. And in addition to aesthetics, a green sensibility is incorporated into the design philosophy of the 46,647-square meter building making it one of the most environment-friendly convention centers in the Philippines.
