Resort 2013 Collection is Tie Dye & Hue Friendly
USA- New York, NY | Aug 1 2012 | (23:00:51 - EDT)
The Resort 2013 collection is trickling in from all of the fashion capitals and while one has no idea what their holiday vacation plans are, they already have a pretty good idea of what they want to be wearing.
Every time resort or pre-fall comes around, shoppers tends to really like what designers put out for off-seasons because it falls more within the realm of what people actually wear than that of a runway model fantasy. It’s also interesting because one start to get a taste of the trends that might end up on the spring 2013 runways.
So far, there are a lot of plaids, colorful stripes, and florals, as well as pencil skirts and dresses over pants. There are also a lot of ’70s and psychedelic vibes.
Tie-dye: Most importantly tie-dye is back, but this time without the hippie vibe. Designers worked the look in various sporty ways for resort, and manipulated them via prints rather than those traditional twist-and-dip.
Leather in color: Forgoing the ubiquitous black, designers are falling for leather in colorful shades.
Here are a few collections worth noting:
Band of Outsiders
This collection is full of the fun, casual staples we all need in our wardrobe, like striped tees that actually look different from every other striped tee, hooded jackets and a simple white jumpsuit that is probably already on its way to Kirsten Dunst’s house.
Honor
The love of Giovanna Randall’s sweet, feminine wares grows with every collection. This season, her gorgeous digital prints were inspired by Roy Lichenstein which we think adds a fun twist. People love the flirty dresses and sheer panelling.
Chris Benz
This collection is perfect for a disco party in the middle of a tropical vacation. Like a really chic one.
Jason Wu
From classic, perfectly tailored separates to fun, floral dresses (and that adorable romper), to gorgeous, lacey eveningwear, this super strong collection is at the top of the list.
The Row
The Olsen twins did not let anyone down after their somewhat surprising CFDA award win. This timeless, sophisticated collection is full of great fabrics and awesome accessories.
