Donate to Sundance and Receive a DVD of Shorts
USA- Park City, UT | Feb 1 2012 | (01:07:14 - EDT)
Sundance wants to thank everyone for making the 2012 Sundance Film Festival such a huge success! After 10 days and nearly 200 films, Sundance left Park City with unforgettable memories. Hip-hop artist and first-time director Ice-T premiered his film Something from Nothing and performed with Grandmaster Caz and Chuck D at the ASCAP Music Café. Six-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis delivered a breakout performance in one of the Festival's most talked-about films, Behn Zeitlin's Beasts of the Southern Wild.
And then there was the impressive array of documentaries like Finding North and The Queen of Versailles, each of which explored the fallout of our broken economic system and the often quixotic search for the new American dream. As always, its been a strong showcase of what the coming year in culture will look like in America and across the globe.
As Sundance begins 2012, they ask everyone to please remember that none of it would have been possible without the support of attendees and movie lovers. Please help support independent filmmakers and the work that inspired global audiences these past two weeks. Any amount will make a difference. Contribute $50 or more to Sundance Institute today, and they will send you an exclusive DVD of short films from the 2012 Festival. The Sundance Film Festival's shorts program has long been established as a place of discovery for emerging directors like Wes Anderson, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Jason Reitman, and even numerous first-time feature directors from this year's Festival.
Will you help support filmmakers beyond the Festival?
The Sundance Film Festival is just one of the many programs that Sundance Institute offers in support of independent artists. As a nonprofit organization, they are only as strong as our community of supporters. Please take this opportunity to make a contribution and ensure that Sundance Institute remains a vital platform and creative resource for independent storytelling.
