United Kingdom Jewish Film Festival 2012
UK- London | Oct 27 2012 | (23:12:44 - EDT)
U.K. Jewish Film (Nov. 1-25, 2012) is dedicated to developing an environment in which Jewish film entertains, educates and enlightens diverse audiences in the U.K. and internationally.
UKJF is a year round organization which focuses on bringing the best of world cinema, providing support and training to new and emerging filmmakers, and producing education events including exploring holocaust, genocide, racism and interfaith themes with a variety of audiences including students and young people.
The 16th annual festival offers a broad range of international cinema, films made in the last year that would otherwise be unseen in the U.K., as well as intriguing old favorites This Festival also features some very special events such as the Barbican screening of "His People," with live musical accompaniment by Sophie Solomon, and a day-long program for Emerging Filmmakers, hosted at the new Film Museum in Covent Garden. This is in addition to numerous opportunities to engage with both U.K. and international filmmakers at post-screening Q&As.
Film is universal, it has the ability to unite us all, engaging us in stories that resonate across all human life. And this is the source of inspiration at UK Jewish Film. When you choose to be part of the U.K. Jewish Film Festival audience you open a door on to a global window that gives you a stimulating Jewish view of life and culture, one that brings laughter and tears in equal measure.
