Pete Nelson's Treehouse Men Debuts Spring 2013

USA- Fall City, WA | Jan 9 2013 | (23:17:23 - EDT)

For those who love the fresh smell of pine, the comfort of the wilderness and the relaxation of sleeping under a tree-lined canopy, you're welcome you to tune in to “Treehouse Men,” a new series featuring the world’s foremost treehouse builder (yes there is such a person) and author Pete Nelson. The series will debut this spring on Animal Planet.

For over 25 years, Pete Nelson, the “Treehouse Guy,” has created the most interesting and beautiful treehouses in the world. Nelson has focused his life on creating hundreds of floating hideaways and sustainable designs, from children’s retreats to guesthouses to 1000 square-foot vacation homes.

Nelson, co-founder of Treehouse Workshop and owner of Nelson Treehouse and Supply, has been featured on media as diverse as NPR and the Today Show and was one of Outside magazine’s “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.”

As a tree lover—AND  a cross between an architect, a custom shipwright and builder/craftsman, Nelson can’t stand the thought of clearing out property for a guest house or vacation home, so he helps clients perch these properties in the trees.

From building houses in the treetops of Japan to constructing around the majestic redwoods in Northern California, Nelson and his team work within the natural landscape of the property to create a unique and whimsical, yet practical and sustainable design. Often complete with running water and electricity, these arboreal retreats provide plenty of space and comfort for the clients, their children and their friends.

In addition to constructing the houses, Nelson also offers plans, products, consulting and other services, including the hands-on TreeHouse Workshop. Nelson also has many books published on his treehouses, which can be found here.
