Innovative Social Shopping App Raises $750K

Flit Shopping, the innovative social shopping app experience for the iPad, announces the formal closing of $750,000 in funding. The investments come from major players in the tech industry including Crosslink Capital, YouWeb Startup Incubator, Spencer Trask, and Correlation Ventures.

Flit Shopping received its original funding from Tandem Entrepreneurs in 2011. With this new round of funding, Adrian Lall, Flit Shopping's founder and CEO, plans to engage with more retailers, brands, and consumers to broaden the app's reach and coverage.

Since its launch in mid-October, Flit Shopping has seen impressive growth and momentum. Shopper searches are growing at 100 percent month-over-month, and monthly store visits driven by Flit have increased 110 percent. "Flit does to shopping what Flipboard did to publishing and news aggregation a few years ago: it brings an entirely new curated shopping experience to tablet users,' said Peter Relan, mentor and advisor to Flit. "The early numbers already show some incredible traction, and as an investor I'm very excited to see where this talented team takes Flit from here."

Lall is also announcing the app's latest enhancement, the Flit Lookbook, which offers key retailers, brands, and partners the opportunity to showcase a curated set of products for an immersive shopping experience. For example, Keylee Sanders, celebrity stylist and Style Advisor to Flit, has curated a Lookbook for holiday dresses, and fashion blogger Amanda Holstein, of "Advice From a Twenty-Something," created an exclusive Flit gift guide.

Based on shopper requests and retailer outreach, Flit has been continuously adding new shops. Newest additions include Uniqlo, Children's Place, and Zara Home, with the app now approaching 1,200 retailers. The Flit Shopping team is dedicated to expanding and diversifying Flit's scope and is always scouting for new brands and stores to include.
