Shadows of My Memory by Cesar Ordonez

Cesar Ordoñez was born in Barcelona, where he had his first photographic exhibitions in the late eighties. After a long period in which he combined his artistic activity and his professional connection with advertising and fashion photography, in recent years he has returned at full time to his most intimate, vital and reflexive work.

Ordoñez has established in Barcelona and Tokyo the bases where develops his personal projects. Building a conceptual and artistic discourse itself, result of exchange of ideas and experiences with Japan. Their work focuses on the research about the relationships between the cities and their inhabitants and the emotions generated by that link. With "anthropological" and introspective look full of narrative and aesthetic strength.

He has exhibited in several cities and galleries in Spain, as Rita Castellote (Madrid), h2o and Valid Photo (Barcelona) among others. Also in Mexico (Patricia Conde Gallery, Mexico DF), France (Galerie Detaille, Marseille) Russia (Central Exhibition Hall "Manege", St. Petersburg) and China (UCCA, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing). His works are part of art collections: Auer Photo Foundation (Geneva, Switzerland), Fundació Fotocolectania (Barcelona, Spain) and Unicaja Foundation (Malaga, Spain).

Ordoñez's most recent in progress work "Shadows of My Memory" (Nogueruelas, 2012) is highlighted above. The artist will also be exhibiting photography works at the Weart Festival through Oct. 31, 2012.
