Treehouse Village Branches Out

Finca Bellavista – the world’s first treehouse community – recently announced the formation of its non-profit branch, the Bellavista Initiative rally.org/bellavista. For their highly anticipated launch, this Ewok-themed community that swings high in the tropical forests of Costa Rica came to San Francisco, a city on the cutting edge of lifestyle curation and environmental awareness.

For the last six years, the founders of Finca Bellavista, which means Farm with a Beautiful View, have been on the forefront of providing a surprisingly viable and sustainable alternative to community living and conventional real estate development.

“We are extremely excited about focusing on conservation efforts in our region,” Finca Bellavista co-founder Erica Hogan said. “While it is a new beginning, it is also a continuation and true manifestation of our original intention and goal to help preserve the rainforest.”

Finca Bellavista was created with the driving vision of preserving the rainforest and offering a unique opportunity for ecologically minded property owners to live and experience the rainforest.

As a continued effort to be environmental stewards and ambassadors for sustainable living, the founders of this treetop paradise are excited to unveil their new non-profit conservation endeavor – The Bellavista Initiative rally.org/bellavista.  The Bellavista Initiative aims to assist communities throughout Latin America in regenerating rainforest assets and restoring native habitats by encouraging healthier lifestyles and facilitating economic opportunities.

Finca Bellavista is partnering with Rally.org to raise funds for this initiative. The Bellavista Initiative is also being launched from Rallypad, Rally’s SOMA based social projects incubator operated as part of its commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative.

The Finca Bellavista / Rally partnership blossomed from a visit that CEO and co-founder of Rally, Tom Serres, made to Finca Bellavisita two years ago. “It was a life changing experience,” said Serres. “At the Finca I gained a newfound appreciation for conservation – you literally sleep next to waterfalls and monkeys.”

This one-of-a-kind arboreal community has appeared in dozens of media outlets across the globe, including CNN Latin America, Inhabitat, and Gizmodo, and are slated for extended features on both PBS and BBC South America.

During Wednesday’s launch Bellavista’s co-founders, Matt and Erica Hogan, shared their thoughts on eco-utopia, holistic conservation, and the future of sustainable developments around the world. If soaring high and dreaming big for a night wasn’t exciting enough, attendees also had the opportunity to win a 6-day tree-house adventure for two at Finca Bellavista!
